About Time for Some Ruthi

with one comment

It’s been WAY TOO LONG since I’ve had Ruthi pics up, but we’ve had some camera issues, which should be resolved before long. I managed to get a few pics that we took over the past month or so. Once again, they’ll leave you saying, “by far, the cutest baby ever.”

3 of 4 tags filled. Not too shabby…

with 6 comments

That’s right, you’ll see below my largest harvest to date. Dad, James and I all filled out bull elk tags in Colorado last week. What an incredible experience. Below you’ll see a picture of me, Dad, and James each with our bulls, and a picture of Dad and I while we were packing out one of the three bulls down in one spot. It was by far the hardest “FUN” work of my life, but well worth it. The details are far too great to describe on the blog, so I’ll spare you and share the story with you personally some time.

The trip was also revealing and refreshing for me. I was challenged in ways I never imagined I would be, so to be blessed in the way I was and to come back having made new friends and a great time with family and our friend Ralph in the way I did, I feel truly undeserving to have had such an experience. I humbly thank the Lord for such an opportunity and for showing me what I look like on the inside now compared to what I CAN look like with His help.

You can see by the pictures how HUGE they are compared to us. They really are amazing creatures, and yet even in their enormity, they seem small compared to the vastness of the terrain and surroundings.

Ultimate Hunting Adventure

with one comment

I’m off to Colorado for the next 8 days in search of a meeting with destiny. for 5 days of hunting Me, my Dad, my brother-in-law (brotha from anotha motha), and our friend Ralph are headed to Western Colorado to hunt for Rocky Mountain Elk. It’s been a year in the making and many years in the planning/dreaming phase. I’ve been so excited the past two weeks it’s been hard to focus on my ministry! Also, these things are huge. I’m pretty sure if I get a descent sized one it should feed my family for over a year. That would be awesome.

As you can see, they really are beautiful animals. I can’t wait to finally see them in person. The last time I saw an elk it was just a few cows and their calves crossing the road in Yellowstone park. I was eleven.
